The Project Ecosystem: An Overview

In HotspotSEO, a Project is more than just a website URL—it is the central container for all your intelligence data. Think of it as a dedicated workspace where your technical audits, keyword rankings, content strategies, and performance logs are stored and correlated.

You cannot use the platform's advanced tools (like the Site Audit or Keyword Tracker) without first defining a project. This ensures that every piece of data we collect is organized and actionable.

The Project Lifecycle

Managing a project in HotspotSEO follows a continuous three-stage lifecycle. This section covers each stage in detail:

  • Stage 1: Connection & Verification (Setup)

    • The Goal: Prove you own the website and authorize our bots to scan it.

    • The Method: We support both instant import via Google Search Console (GSC) and manual DNS/HTML verification for new sites.

    • The Result: A secure, verified workspace ready for scanning.

  • Stage 2: Active Management (Configuration)

    • The Goal: Maintain the project's settings over time.

    • The Actions: This involves adjusting crawl frequencies (Weekly/Monthly), setting up downtime alerts, and managing team access. It also covers administrative tasks like renaming projects or deleting old data.

  • Stage 3: Analysis & Reporting (The Loop)

    • The Goal: Turn data into decisions.

    • The Outcome: Once a project is live, it generates the Project Overview. This is your executive dashboard featuring the Health Score, Core Web Vitals, and Issue Breakdowns. This stage is cyclic, you audit, fix issues, and re-audit to watch your Health Score rise.
